More about Brandi
"I've bumped my head so many times at the beginning of my career as a leasing professional and still am as a trainer! Many of those bumps could have been avoided if, at the time, I was educated efficiently from the start of my career. I was new and inexperienced in the property management world. At the time, I was told that I would be trained and that I didn't need to have experience as long as I wasn't afraid of working with people. The things that I know now are second nature to me, but when you are new to a particular industry or job, you are not quite comfortable with it. The only thing that I could think of at the time was if only someone took time out of their schedule and sat down to teach me properly from the very start without me feeling thrown into a lion's cage, I would have been more successful and more of a help. I've cost management companies leases which made them lose out on money, possible lawsuits from breaking Fair Housing rules, and more! Eventually, I obtained the education needed through online programs, mentoring assistance, and on-the-job training but I realized that I wasn't the only one who struggled with this issue. After years of gaining and stuffing my brain with anything that had to do with the apartment industry, I started mentoring new hires then friends and eventually they started referring people to me and I started teaching anyone interested in the industry. That number of interest has grown and is continuing to grow. I won't consider myself a "Leasing Guru" or anything because I am always a student myself! I just want to give people the confidence and skills or what I like to call the "Right Now" skills needed to do their job and do it effectively. Once they are in the industry, they can spread their wings and obtain different designations and education through organizations such as the National Apartment Association (NAA)."
